White Silks S74-1
White silks, also known as S74-1 were produced and distributed by four different tobacco brands. The silks were folded and inserted into cigarette packs as a giveaway to encourage brand loyalty. The back of the silks bears a note that recommends removing the paper backing to make useful household items. This could explain why so many white silks are found without the original ad back in place.
All four tobacco brands printed 3 distinctive ink colors: blue, brown and red shown below. The images are the same as the famed T205 set with two distinctive types. One type has the player image with the team designation below and logo above. The second more elaborate versions has the player fitting into a decorative infield with crisscross bats, a glove, mask and ball present.
